Christmas Tree 2010

It's not even December and we have our Christmas tree. We are a little on the early side this year, but I love it!

Favorite Number

Brooke's favorite number lately seems to be the number 3.  You can't blame her, she is 3 after all.  Let me tell you the ways she uses number "3" :

1.  When eating dinner she tries to bargain and asks to eat only "3" more bites of food
2.  She should always get "3" cookies
3.  Timeout for "3" minutes
4.  She should get to take "3" ornaments off the tree to play with
5.  She should get "3" more minutes before she has to go to bed
6.  When she is not being pleasant, and I ask her when she is going to be a good listener, she says "in 3 more minutes"

Ear Confections

In other words...ear infections...

Unfortunately it is that time of the year.  Both kids and myself have had our first colds in the month of November.  Someone has been sick in our house, pretty much the whole month of November.  First Brooke, then Brandon and then myself.

Ear tubes have been our savior, but only when they are working.  Brandon's cold was so bad that I have been nervous that his tubes might be getting clogged and not be doing anything to prevent fluid build up and infections.

Today was our 6 month follow up from his surgery and thankfully his ears look great!  Both tubes are still in (hope they make it through this winter) and there is no build up in his ear.

The doc was very nice and he actually looked in Brooke's ears too, without charging me a co-pay for each kid....rare these days.   He has done 2 tube surgeries on Brooke, so she is a patient of his.  Her left ear tube is gone, and the right ear had so much wax he couldn't even see if it was still there or not.  Her ear surgery was a year ago in October, so I am hoping we don't run into more infections with her. I was hoping her would get us through this winter too.  Looks like she made it through this past cold without one, so I am hoping for the best.

Thankful

This week Brooke had some homework in the spirit of Thanksgiving.  She needed to choose three things that she was thankful for and draw pictures of them.  With that said, we learned that she is thankful for:

1.  Daddy
2.  My Little Ponies
3.  Turkey

Sounds about right for a 3yr old!

Cold Season

It's that time of the year and little man has his first cold in a really long time.  So long, I can't remember that last one, so I am thankful for that.  Here's to hoping his ear tubes are still in and will get us through another winter sparing us from the dreaded ear infections every few weeks.

Visit With GG

We went down to Manchester Township to visit with the kids great greandmother. We alwasy have a good time visiting and it was great to get to spend time with her.

Trying to hide to go potty, but looked really cute!

Looking crazy, saying cheese and looking away from the camera

Trying to say cheese again without pulling down GG's blinds

Cutest Ring Bearer Ever

I know I am his mom, but Brandon made for the cutest ring bearer I have ever seen!  Here is a sneak peak of the professional photos from the wedding (copyright Candid Moments Photography).  I can't wait to see the rest.  For those of you who don't know, Steve and Amanda are also Brandon's god parents.  We had a cute maroon vest and tie matching the big boys but was huge and there was no way to make it work, so black vest and bow tie it was.

He even held it like a football, making Steve and his Dad proud!

3 Point Stance

When daddy is around lately, football is involved.  Check out his 3-point stance already.

Funny Things She Says

We have a couple of "videos" on the DVR that Brooke watches and when she wants you to fast forward through the commercials in stead of saying fast forward she says,  "will you please transform"
Most times she calls commercials "permercials"

We ended up watching the Grinch last night because she was so cold from trick-or-treating, that she thought it was a good idea for a winter video (a little encouraging by Dad on that one).
