Peed On....Again

With Brandon being 2 and Brooke 4, I thought my days of being peed on were over.  I was wrong, and I got a glimpse of what potty training with Brandon is going to be like.

We had just finished up at swim at the YMCA when we went into the family changing rooms to get dressed and head home.  My mom was helping with Brooke and I was changing Brandon.  As soon as I took of Brandon's swim diaper, he let loose and started peeing all over the floor.  Seeing this, I called his name...mistake.  He turned towards us, basically coming closer and peeing at us.  Brooke screeched and hopped on my mom, while my foot got peed on.

I cleaned everything up, but Brooke still refused to stand back on the ground.  Maybe I should potty train him in this house before we move....

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was a great day.  It was gorgeous outside and we were surrounded by family.  We spent the day at my mom's house and it was really fun to see my kids experience Easter in the same house I did growing up.  The Easter Bunny even hid eggs in some of the traditional spots that he used when I was a child.

Jacuzzi Tub

Tub time is always fun when the jacuzzi tub is involved...at any age :)

Dying Eggs

Brooke always loves dying Easter Eggs.  Brandon has been little the past 2 years but we figured he might be into it this year.  He liked it but all he did was try to put every single egg into one container full of dye which ended up in a huge mess before he ran off because no more would fit in green.

Poor Brooke

The other day she told me being a girl was hard... (poor thing has a long way to go)

Her main reason for this was because she has to get her curly hair brushed every morning.  She even told me she wish she was a boy so she didn't have to get her hair done.  I try to be as gently as possible, but curly hair is such a mess in the morning!

Some days she asks Brandon if he wasn't his hair spiked, and I think the only reason she does, is because she thinks it is just as bad as when she gets her hair brushed.

Sometimes Battles Just Aren't Worth It

Brandon LOVES to help make breakfast most days.  He asks me to get the butter out of the fridge, to give to him, so he can give it to me.  He always wants to hold the bread, or bagel, or whatever it is.  We have been in a pancake mode lately, so he likes to hold those too.

While he insisted on eating it cold and frozen, I insisted on cooking it for him so it was warm.  The second I took it away he started crying...so I gave it back.  If he really wants to try to eat it cold, go for it.  It's probably pretty gross right?

Not if your 2.  He liked it and ate the whole thing that way.  Go figure.

He now asks for "pampake, yucky and cold"

Fostering

We won't be fostering pets anytime soon.  Not that I had intended on doing it anytime soon, but I received confirmation today that my little ones just aren't cut out for it.  My sister-in-law is fostering dogs for the time being.  As of right now, she is on her second pup Maggie.  I told my kids we were going to visit today, but Maggie would only be there for a few short minutes before a trip to the vet.

Just to reiterate...They were warned quite well that the agency would be picking up Maggie shortly after we arrived at Aunt Kris's house.

Well warned and all, instant crying, full on, face red, tears streaming, crying, from Brandon as he was yelling "I wanna see doggie" as soon as Kris put the leash on.  Seeing Brandon reaction and the attention he received, as soon as the door closed, Brooke started.

So there we are, I'm holding Brandon, Kris holding Brooke....took everything for the both of us not to laugh (we might have laughed a little).

CONCLUSION: The Selander's are not fostering any pets.....for a LONG time :)  (She really was the cutest, sweetest dog....Such a cute face when she looks at you....Find her on petfinder)

2nd Child Syndrome

Fact is, they get away with more.  Just happens...not much you can do about it.

I don't think Brooke EVER climbed on top of a table.  Brandon on the other hand has climbed from the chair, to the top of ever table we have in the house.  Subsequently, he has also had more spills than Brooke....Guess that comes with the territory.

Also being a second child, Brandon has had his fingers on gummy snacks much sooner than Brooke.  He is now cut off until a MUCH LATER date.  This weekend instead of fighting with him about not having what Brooke was having, and tired of cutting them up into little pieces, I gave him his own little bag and let him go to town.....

Until I realized he was swallowing them WHOLE....IN ONE PIECE.  Done with those for awhile.
